Do You Believe in Miracles?

Do you believe in miracles?

In my opinion, there are miracles all around us, happening on a daily basis… but, we don’t always allow ourselves to see them.
Some miracles involve work; not just physical stamina and performance, but the establishment of a miracle mindset.

Did author JJ Virgin expect to have to deal with her son Grant being involved in a horrific hit-and-run accident? No, but it was her deliberate mindset that helped progress Grant from a 2.25% chance of survival and the doctors basically telling her to “let him go,” to a thriving survivor today.

JJ shared with Which Way Is Life host, Bill Klaproth, that at the time of the accident, she believed she was able to get through the tragedy because she was already so healthy. Now, looking back, she realizes it was so much more than that.

While Grant’s accident was truly the hardest thing JJ had to deal with, it wasn’t like she hadn’t experienced prior adversity (divorce, bankruptcy, her son’s bipolar disorder). Those challenges actually prepared her for the years of struggle that laid ahead in Grant’s recovery.

You don’t have to live through something as extreme, but know the tests you’re put through in your life are allowing you to be a better person. When things are status quo, you’re not growing or learning. Life’s lessons build character and stamina, expanding you out of your comfort zone and building confidence.

The next time you’re faced with a difficult situation, understand you will be scared. But, stay in action. Invest in hope. Make a plan with steps toward the future success. Build a community around you. Continue to feel courageous, and lean on others to help you do so when you can’t do it on your own.

As JJ says, when you “up-level” your mindset, you intentionally and positively impact your health, career, and relationships. Look at who inspires you… what are the key components of those individuals? Follow in their footsteps.

Finally (this was one of my favorite nuggets of advice from JJ), practice gratitude daily and give to others, even when you don’t have much to give. It will help you flourish and prosper in all aspects of life.

I encourage you to check out the episode, as well as JJ’s book, Miracle Mindset: A Mother, Her Son, and Life’s Hardest Lessons.
